Nerada Tea Pty Ltd

The lush, misty hills of the Cairns Highlands in Tropical North Queensland are one of Australia’s finest agricultural regions. The combination of rich volcanic soil, high altitude and ample rainfall provide the perfect conditions to grow quality tea that rivals some of the best in the world.

Grown without the use of pesticides Nerada Tea is harvested, manufactured and packed throughout the year. From tea bush to your cup can take as little as four weeks, enabling us to provide you with a fresh aromatic cup of tea that has its own unique satisfying flavour.

The Cairns Highlands are situated in the Cairns hinterland in Tropical North Queensland and provide the perfect environment to grow Nerada’s range of Australian Grown teas. The home of Nerada Tea, Glen Allyn Tea Plantation, is just a 90 minute drive from Cairns and is located near the dairy town of Malanda at 790 metres above sea level.

Most of the Camellia plants are planted from seed. It takes about 8 years from planting for the Camellia bush to reach its full harvest potential. Only the tender new growth leaves are harvested to make tea. Due to Australia’s strict quarantine laws the tea bush has no natural pests and hence no pesticides are required in cultivation.
