Convex Mirrors
Selecting the right size of mirror is important. The table below gives a good indication to the viewing distances each mirror is suited for. Work out your combined viewing distance by adding the distance from the viewer to the mirror and the distance from the mirror to the object/person to be viewed. Match this distance with the chart to obtain the right size mirror for your application. If in doubt, always choose the larger size mirror.

Stainless steel mirrors are certainly heavy duty compared to their acrylic counterparts. They are suitable for a number of applications including use in food processing plants, mining environments and areas prone to high vandalism.

Selecting the right mirror
Acrylic and glass convex security mirrors for safety Convex mirrors of glass or acrylic are considered safest and are ideal for seeing objects up to 200 feet away. Steel convex mirrors, on the other hand, are necessary when outdoor, all-weather mirrors are needed. In situations where vandals may be a problem, consider unbreakable polycarbonate mirrors.
Security dome mirror for seeing up close Dome mirrors are perhaps the most commonly seen shops and business centres. They work best for distances of no more than 15 feet. They are useful as camera covers, in offices, and for seeing around corners.
If you don't need a wide-angle mirror, a 'roundtangular' (rectangular, but with rounded edges) security convex mirror is an excellent choice. Objects in other types of security mirrors tend to look smaller than they will in a 'roundtangular' mirror.
