Wedding Veils Brisbane

For many brides choosing wedding veils can sometimes be challenging. Once a bride-to-be has chosen her wedding gown, if she wants to wear a wedding veil, then finding one that will compliment her wedding gown and complete her ensemble, is important.  Wedding veils transform the gown and complete the overall image you are portraying, whether modern or traditional in style.

When choosing your wedding veil make sure you wear your gown when trying on styles and lengths. The first thing to consider when choosing your wedding veil is to consider the length of the wedding veil to ensure if is in proportion to your wedding gown.

Length of Wedding Veil

Choosing the length of your wedding veil is essential as the wrong length can overshadow the wedding gown; whereas the right length can and will enhance the detail in your dress and compliment your overall outfit. Wedding veils generally come in 3 standard lengths:

  • Elbow length wedding veils are the most common and are usually chosen when your gown does not have a train and is often worn when the dress is not a full length wedding gown.

  • Fingertip length wedding veils can be worn with any gown that is full length but again not recommended for wedding gowns with a train.

  • Cathedral length veils are usually worn for formal weddings and drapes along the floor creating quite a dramatic effect.

When trying on wedding veils you need to decide on the hairstyle for your wedding day.  Wearing your hair up will certainly affect the type of wedding veil you choose. Also consider your face shape when purchasing your wedding veil, and choose one that will enhance your facial features.

Wedding Veil Colours

Wedding veils generally come in two standard colours, white and ivory, and it isn’t necessary to try to match the exact colour of the bridal veil to the colour of your dress.  You will find that the veil will tend to take on the tone of the wedding dress.

Tiers

Wedding veils can be single or multi-tiered and depending upon the style of your gown, length and detailing, you need to choose the veil most appropriate for the gown. Choosing a wedding veil with more than one tier allows you to take the top layer of the veil and use it as a blusher before your wedding ceremony.

Veil Fabric

Wedding veils are usually made from silk tulle, English netting or bridal illusion to name a few.  Being a synthetic fabric, bridal illusion is not suitable if you want to hand your veil down to the next generation as over time it will tend to yellow. English netting is any type of tulle made from 100% cotton, suitable for wedding veils as the fabric is sheer enough. A stiffer fabric so tends not to drape as well as other fabrics. A wedding veil made from silk tulle means the veil is made from 100% silk and will drape and flow nicely.  A lovely sheer fabric, it can be used as a blusher layer within your veil.

If you are wanting to buy a wedding veil in Brisbane then Dianas Veils offers beautiful hand made wedding veils in various lengths to compliment your wedding gown.
